How to Find the Best Online Slots

So, you have been playing online slots for some time now. You feel that you are winning money while enjoying the games but you have to step up to the next level. After all, you cannot forever be contented with winning the small-time world of dinner in a fancy restaurant when you can be in the big-time league of embarking on the vacation of your dreams, thanks to your accumulated online slot winnings, right?

If your answer is a resounding "no", then you have to know how to find the best online slots! And when you do, you will find that enjoying and profiting from online slots in a big way is indeed possible.

Read the User Reviews

Only a fool will believe the marketing hype of the online casinos especially where being the best amongst the best is concerned. After all, no online casino management in its right mind will acknowledge that their casino is number two, much less lagging behind in the industry.

As such, you must rely more on the user reviews of the online casino. These people have experienced how it is to play the games over at the online casino that you are considering. Thus, they are in a better position to provide objective insights, recommendations, suggestions, criticisms, concerns and complaints to fellow gamblers like you.

Of course, you must also exercise prudent judgment in reading and accepting user reviews as the truth. If the online casino sounds too good to be true, it is probably too good to be true. And we know how things turn out when we believe something that is too good to be true, right?

Ask Around, Do Your Research

The Internet is filled with all kinds of marketing hype that it can be difficult separating truth from fiction. (Or delusion, for that matter) Thus, you have to do your research starting with family and friends who have had experience with online slots.

After all, you can expect your family and friends to tell you their side of the truth about online slots, right? Of course, this presupposes that the people you ask are knowledgeable about online slots. Otherwise, it will be the classic case of the blind leading the blind.

Just Play the Games

Experience is the best teacher and this adage applies equally well to online casino slot games. You can always go for the trial and error process where you lose some and win some. Let's hope that you wins some more than you lose some.

When you start playing the games to get to the best, you can take down notes. This way, you can refer to your notes to determine which game is more appropriate for your gambling goals. Keep in mind that what may be best for you may not exactly be the best for another and vice-versa.

Now that you know how to find the best online slots, you can start your quest! And the payoff will be great since you can start enjoying yourself and pocketing more profits in the process.

Where to Meet Women - The Bar is the Hardest Place

By Willis Combs

Unfortunately, when you are in search of women the bar is the most common and most practical place to go. However in reality this is probably the hardest place to pick up a quality woman.

Sure you may get lucky a couple times and pick up someone. However likely she is either going through a phase, or is a bar fly and you may need a shot of penicillin after you spend the night with her, if your lucky.

While there are definitely good people that go out to the bars. Most woman are on full alert and have their guard up. This is a result of the drunk idiot sitting next to you that said "Hey you girl, you got a real pretty ____." Unfortunately this guy makes you pay in the end.

So Where Should You Go?

Good question, you should go everywhere. Go shopping, talk to the women you interact with, pick up girls at work, anywhere and everywhere!

Additionally, I have had some success using some online dating sites. Some are as cheap as $20 per month and when it comes to dating that is a drop in the bucket!

One of the reasons you will have more success approaching girls in a non-bar atmosphere is because so few other men do that. The vast majority wait, go to the bar have a couple drinks and try to pick up women and this is when most quality women are least likely to be picked up.

Think about it, you are one of the few genuinely good men out there. You are compared to all the other rude drunk jerks that have already tried to hit on her that night.

I am not saying don't try but you will likely have a much lower conversion from conversation to phone number to making out than if you meet women, anywhere else!

Also when you start a conversation with a girl in a non-bar setting, it shows you are confident & assertive. This is different than every other guy. This is a very good thing, you always want to be different that every other guy. Otherwise, why should she go out with you if you are just like everyone else.

So in short, avoid the bar instead; go to the mall, join a dating site, talk to all girls in any situation that you find attractive. Including if they are just walking down the street.

The only exception is if there are some cool wine bars in your area, you should definitely go there. You will likely be outnumbered by women and these are typically not places that girls that intend on going out to the bars all night, go to.

Pool Table Light: To See the Color of Money

By Pamela Smith

Ten years ago, pool or billiards was typically considered a game believed in a seedy under-lit pool halls infused in thick cigarette smoke with shady characters of all stripes betting on a languid parlor game. In the movie, The Color of Money, which starred Tom Cruise and the late Paul Newman, it showed his role of a veteran pool shark that won for him his only Academy acting award and it has confirmed in the mind of the public the dubitable nature of pool. It is said that you need to develop your skill to play pool and have sufficient lightings to play the game well. This is turn will call for the need of a pool table light.

With its newfound respectability, pool is now featured in ESPN and the best players make hundreds of thousands of dollars in prizes and more on product endorsements. You must have noticed that in the games played on TV, the pool halls where the sport is played are very well lighted, as if in an indoor basketball game at night.

A pool table light will serve to provide sufficient luminescence for the playing surface, the billiard balls, the cue stick, and everything involved in the game to be visible. They can also create an environment intensifying the playing experience and the surrounding adornments. Because of longstanding prejudices, many conceptualized that an old ceiling light fixture is adequate to illuminate the pool table and everything else on it.

But just liken in any work activity, a focused source of light along with the ambient lighting given off by flush-mount or semi-flush ceiling fixtures are needed. This will illuminate the playing surface better and maybe even improve play. The added balance to the subtle style of the decor is a bonus.

Direct and indirect lighting fixtures are no same matters entirely. When you play the game of pool, this needs utilization of direct luminescence. A blinding spotlight over the pool table is not necessary for this purpose, illumination on the playing surface that does not cause glare or eye strain is what is necessary.

Hanging lamps or pendants are the most common lights for pool tables. With the basic design of pool tables being long and narrow, the lights must conform to the design. A billiard lamp as long as a billiard table is desired, but pool tables normally measuring eight feet long, this is not practical. A small light fixture over a pool table light is the sensible thing to have.

Just be sure that the light is at the center over the table. Players want see clearly the corner pockets in this game of angles. Shadows that smaller pool table light fixtures cause affect the outcome of the game, besides producing a gloomy atmosphere that harks back to the seedy period of this sport.

How to Win At Progressive Jackpots

If you have been playing progressive games and losing more than you are winning, then you are justified in asking how to win at progressive jackpots. After all, it is not against the law of man and of nature to try to win big amounts through jackpots. With that said, here are the ways to win progressive jackpots. Just keep in mind that these are suggestions on winning only. Actually winning at progressive jackpots requires a combination of knowledge and of luck, just like in life.

Play the Slot Machines with the Best Payouts

This is a very obvious advice but one that must be emphasized as it is often overlooked by online casino players. You have to search for the slot machines with the biggest and the best payouts to win at progressive jackpots. Well, of course, you have to play the slots themselves to determine which one offers the best payouts. However, if you cannot bet too much of your money on this kind of betting, you can always access the online review sites that find the machines with the best payouts!

Often, too, you will discover through these websites that online casinos offer better payouts than their land-based counterparts. It must be because online casinos have lesser overhead expenses, not to mention that the competition is so tough that better promotions must be made to entice more and more players. Of course, when playing the slot machines with the best payouts, you must also find the online casinos that offer bonus plays.

Play When the Jackpot Is Sufficiently Big

Big is a relative term although a million dollars is definitely big enough. Anyways, to win at progressive jackpots, you must know how slot games work. You will realize that playing when the jackpot is sufficiently big will provide bigger chances of winning it simply because you already have an edge.

An edge means that, in the long run, you can reasonably expect to win money at the slots than what you have poured into them. Indeed, the concept of "overdue" is an outdated one that you must abandon now or abandon all hope of ever winning at progressive jackpots.

Play at Full Coins

This is the most important tip in winning at progressive jackpots. You can and will only win it if you are playing the maximum number of coins! As such, if you plan on being a thrifty gambler, then don't waste your money because you will be significantly lessening your chances at winning this game, probably reducing it to zero. Besides, even if you do win the progressive jackpot by some fluke of fate, you will be shortchanging the game and yourself. And what profitable good is there in that? However, before you play full coins, always remember to read the payout tables. You want to play the machine that will provide the biggest payout with the smallest investment.

On a last note, the ways on how to win at progressive jackpots will start and end on your good financial management. You must learn to walk away if and when your limits for losing and winning have been achieved even when the jackpot seems within your reach. Keep in mind that playing progressive jackpots over and over again is not something you want to do for the rest of your life.

Seahawks Shut Out Rams To Open NFL Season

By Ross Everett

While the St. Louis Rams arent the toughest opponents the NFL can offer, the Seattle Seahawks played well on both offense and defense en route to a 28-0 opening game victory. Jim Mora made a successful debut as Seahawks coach and Matt Hasselbeck played his first regular season game since last Thanksgiving.

The Seahawks easily covered the spread as -7 home favorites. The ATS victory improved the Seahawks to 18-15 against the number in the past three years. The Rams dropped to a dismal 11-22 ATS in the past three years with a 9-20 mark as an underdog. The 28 points scored went UNDER the total of 41. The Seahawks are 16-16 O/U in their lined games over the past three years, while the Rams have gone UNDER in 17 of their last 30.

Mora is a native of the Seattle and once worked as a visiting locker room attendant for the Seahawks. The homecoming made the victory all the more enjoyable as he recounted afterwards:

"It was especially emotional for me, because there is some significance to it. I'd be lying if I told you there wasn't. It was kind of a surreal experience."

It was also the Seahawks first shutout in over two seasons, while the once high flying Rams were shut out for the first time since 1998. Linebacker Aaron Curry commented after the game that defensive tenacity and toughness are goals for the new look Seattle team:

"The whole offseason, they said our team was soft. We've got to change our image."

The Rams looked to be the same pitiful team that stumbled to a 2-14 record in 2008. It was hardly the debut that rookie head coach Steve Spagnuolo had hoped far as St. Louis gained only 247 yards and 13 first downs. It's never a good sign when players point to personal fouls as a positive, as Steven Jackson did in his postgame interviews:

"Would you rather us just get our tail kicked and walk back to the huddle? You saw some fight in this team."

The Rams looked sloppy and undisciplined throughout, amassing 10 penalties for 85 yards and having their only touchdown of the game negated due to too many men on the field. Clearly, the problems with the St. Louis team run much deeper than coaching.

The schedule wont get any easier for St. Louis, as they hit the road again this week to face the Washington Redskins. The Rams are a +10 road underdog in that contest with the total set at 36. Seattle will also play away from home this Sunday, heading down the coast to meet the resurgent San Francisco 49ers. The Niners are a -1 home favorite with the total set at 39.

Braided Line in Texas Gulf Coast Saltwater Fishing

By Captain Kyle Tomek

While some people hate it and others love it, spooling reels with braided line is a trend that is growing in popularity in the saltwater fishing scene.

Braided line is very hardy and has more strength packed into the smaller diameter, contrary to its stretch cohort, monofilament line. Braided line holds up especially well in the bay systems that are usually full of shell obstructions and submerged rocks. In these areas, monofilament often comes up short.

Greg Bagby, an experienced plugger in the Matagorda Bay system, switched to braided line for saltwater fishing several years ago. "I used to use braided line exclusively for fishing in freshwater for bass," says Bagby. "It's really hard to beat braid when your fishing for bass and have to horse them through thick weeds." "It's a lot easier to work a topwater, which is the main reason I use it, especially in high winds and at the end of casts".

Greg Bagby is just one angler among many that have taken a liking to the 8 diameter-30 pound test. "I always rig my line with no leader and use a small clip or a connector. This works really well when you need to change out lures quickly." Loop knots are another great connection choice.

First-time users will quickly learn how easily they can lose a fish when the drag is set incorrectly. "Remember to loosen the drag lighter that you would with monofilament," says Bagby. He states that the lips of speckled trout are soft and a no stretch line with a tight drag will likely result in lost fish.

The line offers durability and strength, but he has found the line to bury and knot in the spool on occasions. "Backlashes may be less often, but those that occur will have you trudging back to the boat." However for Greg Bagby, the pros of braid outweigh the cons.

"I don't nearly need to change my line as often, the sensitivity is much better, and the slack in my line has drastically decreased since I started spooling braid instead of mono," says Captain Bubba Simons, a middle coast bay and offshore guide. He claims his favoring of braid during his trout and redfish charters grows by the day. "I'll be switching all of my offshore reels soon."

If you've already checked the fishing reports and are ready to go, remember that braid works very well when using live bait and spinning reels. While it's critical to keep the slack from the line, Simons says that braided line will be less likely to create slack.

When rigging a 10 diameter-40 pound test braid, he chooses a fluorocarbon leader at the end of the line. "I have seen the fluorocarbon bring a lot more strikes," states Simons. "One time last summer when the surf got real clear, I was fishing beside an angler that was using the same lure as me, but he didn't have a fluorocarbon leader. The fish were definitely biting my lure a lot more often than his.

Creating Your Own Guitar Playing Style

By Eugene Walker

Learn how to manipulate and mold your sound into something that will set you apart from the rest of the crowd. We'll reveal some great ideas on how you can make some simple changes that will give you a very unique style.

Being Yourself. Who are you?

We all remember a point in time where we wished we had the talent and the sound of another guitarist. For many of us, this comparison takes place on a daily basis and can either drive us to work harder or bruise our self-confidence. Unfortunately, the end result usually concludes with us feeling slightly depressed and envious. We fail to realize our own potential and ability to create our own sound.

The harsh reality is that 95% of us will never sound like our heroes. Why? Simply because we don't have the time, the money, or their brains. That may sound cruel, but it's actually a good thing when put into the context of our own playing. Anyone can pick up a tab book and play a song but it takes a true guitarist to make it their own.

If you take a moment to examine some of your guitar heroes now, you'll find that they created their own style that made them famous by integrating various techniques from other guitarists and fusing them together. Many also took the core idea of a few different genres and combined them to create what would then become a new style.

Some great examples of such players include the likes of Santana, Jimmy Page, Jeff Beck, Kurt Cobain, Pete Townshead and many more. You may be asking yourself why I mentioned money as one of the reasons that the majority of us will never sound like the players I have pointed out.

While you can emulate many of those tones, it's hard to duplicate them perfectly because they own thousands of dollars worth of gear.

However, don't be discouraged. With some simple fixes and a few innovative ideas, you'll be well on your way to creating a new style and tone that will make you shine.

Listen.

Before you embark on your journey to creating your own unique style, I highly recommend you look through our past articles and do some research. Don't be afraid to try new styles and genres to see which ones you enjoy the most.

Do some searches for diverse styles of music on Google. Another great resource is billboard.com. They have charts of the latest top songs that will give you an idea of what's available to you in modern terms. A trip to your local music store will also help you out immensely.

From that point, make a list of your favorite artists from these various genres. Try to seek out the similarities and differences. Ideally, you should listen for the little things that you like most. That could range from a certain way an artist strums, to how they move their fingers across the fretboard to create a certain effect.

Take the traits that you really like from these artists and combine them. Everyone has their own touches that they add and how you use them is up to you. It won't happen overnight but with practice and patience, you will find your groove. The end result will produce a style that reflects you and the music you love.

Look at the pros.

Taking the above tip to a higher level, let's look at some professional guitarists and the music that they play. Many come from varied backgrounds, which is what makes them unique. Perhaps seeing some genres that these familiar names are associated with will assist you in choosing some different styles.

David Gilmour (Pink Floyd)- Gilmour has been viewed as one of the most unique guitarists of the 20th century. Originally, Gilmour was a backup guitarist for the band until Syd Barret left due to personal issues. From there, Gilmour started to mould his sound into a piece of art via the use of a Strat, HiWatt amps, and a barrage of effects pedals.

How he used those effects pedals is what put his name into the forefront of style. He performs tricks that many have yet to emulate. He is truly a great guitarist to look up to.

Ritchie Blackmore (Deep Purple) - If you aspire to incorporate a nice variety of diametrically opposed styles, then Ritchie Blackmore is the man to aspire to be like. Blackmore had the ability to incorporate country and classical music into rock guitar. This is very suiting considering he started on a classical guitar and then made the switch to electric later on.

Who inspired him? His main influences were players such as Hank Marvin and Duane Eddy, amongst many others. Perhaps you haven't heard of them but Hank Marvin was the front man for the 60's group, The Shadows.

Jimmy Page (Led Zeppelin) - Jimmy is an extremely versatile guitarist that combines numerous techniques from various aspects of playing to form his own material. He is the master of experimentation, using everything from violin bows to acoustic playing styles on an electric guitar. He has a history of using some very cool effects pedals as well, although he doesn't need them to sound good.

In fact, one of his earlier custom effects units happened to be one of the first fuzz boxes introduced to the world. It spread like wild fire amongst the world's most popular guitarists. Unfortunately, not even the likes of Jeff Beck could truly bring out its sound quite like Jimmy could.

Django Reinhardt (Quintet of The Hot Club of France) - Anyone who knows jazz knows this name. While Django was considered a gypsy guitarist, he primarily played the role of the mentor, not the one who was taking ideas from others. Over the years few have managed to replicate his lightning fast riffs and intuitive phrasing style. To top all of that off, his strumming patterns were insane!

Another neat fact about this brilliant musician is that he started his musical life by playing other instruments such as the violin and banjo. This explains a lot about the music he produced. Notes that are close together on a violin tend to be far apart on a guitar but Django broke that barrier and carried over many of those techniques. I believe his strumming style was adapted from the banjo.

I highly recommend you look into some of his masterpieces in order to test your technical ability and to grow as a guitarist. He used only two fingers to play guitar seeing as his first two were mangled in a fire.

Scotty Moore (Elvis Presley) - Moore transformed the guitar world by introducing driving rhythms and interesting chord progressions. He kept things basic and that's what made him famous. His music was compatible with Elvis because it didn't dominate the vocals and he didn't strive to be in the spotlight.

The coolest piece of gear that set Moore apart was his Echosonic amp. Only 68 were ever made in the world and he still has his to this very day. It featured an impressive built in delay system that gave him his characteristic sound. No one can beat these amps that were made by hand. Truly a rare, once in a lifetime find. Without it, Elvis wouldn't have the same sound on his records that revolutionized music history.

It's all in the fingers.

When I first started my journey in the musical world, I heard a saying that goes something like this: FIND SAYING. What allows us to have the ability to sound decent on virtually any guitar is our technique. What allows us to have great technique? That's right, our fingers!

Our fingers can be compared to soldiers on a battlefield. They are our first line of defense and set the tempo for things to come. Training them to be the best that they can be is an essential step to creating your own style. Sloppy fingers will get you no where fast in the guitar world.

Ideally, your fingers should be strong enough to handle bar chords with ease and have enough agility to navigate the fretboard with little to no difficulty. Agility and strength are key and often overlooked by guitarists because we treat fingers as muscles that are already developed.

False! Just because you may have larger fingers, it doesn't mean that they can stand up to hours on the fretboard. Not unlike an army, you must train each one individually to achieve maximum success.

The History Of Digital Synthesizers

By Charlie Michaels

Synthesizers have revolutionized the way musicians perform on stage. In the old days, they could only recreate sounds through outdated recording techniques. Today, they can generate thousands of notes and frequencies on stage by the touch of a button.

A synthesizer is an electronic device that can simulate various sounds by creating and mixing a combination of different frequencies. By this method, it can create thousands of unique mixes of sounds.

Entertainers who wish to insert the noise of a car horn in their act dont have to use a recording of a car horn. In its place, the noise can be made by merely turning on a switch. The synthesizer even makes several sounds at the same time, such as, for instance, a honking horn or a bird calling.

Elisha Gray invented the first known synthesizer sometime in the latter part of the 1800s. He is mostly renowned for some of his other work: the telegraph and one of the first forms of the telephone. Gray led the way in electronics and was a future thinker in many ways. Although his premiere device was thought to be a little elementary by todays values, it cleared the path for models we have today.

Robert Moog, the father of the modern synthesizer, developed his ideas for an electronic instrument by starting out in 1961 and his synthesizer became publicized during 1990s. The Moog synthesizer is still widely perceived as a novel form of electronic keyboard.

Moog's synthesizer was at the head of the line in using a piano keyboard to control it. Prototypes that came before had used switches, dials and buttons. For that reason, they are compared to the pianos and electronic keyboards produced now. But they can be controlled by other methods. One example of that is a Guitar synthesizer.

Early synthesizers were also quite bulky and difficult to transport. Moog's synthesizer, however, was more compact and easier to travel with. This allowed many more musicians to use them in live performances. Through the years, synthesizers have continued to be grow more smaller and more sophisticated. Today, most synthesizers have utilized computer technologies and contain motherboards and computer chips.

The keyboard synthesizer continues to be widely used by musicians, particularly ones who tour regularly. Both touring and studio musicians frequently use software synthesizers called softsynth to create digital sounds to enhance their music. A less common device that a musician might use is a saxophone-style synthesizer.

How to Win At a Series Slot

In an online casino, as it is in its land-based counterpart, the ability to win at a series slot is a highly admired and highly valued skill. After all, the payouts are very generous considering the small amount of investments that you pour into them. As such, you will be asking all and sundry how to win at a series shot with varying success. Well, let this article become your definitive although short guide to winning your next series of slot games.

Quit While You Are Ahead

You are probably asking why this advice should be first on the line. It is simple, really. When you have won a sufficient amount of money to make your clean profit, stop right there. You must not push your luck since you can lose everything including your initial investment at the next play. This also goes for losing. When you have lost all that you can lose, quit. You can always return tomorrow. Both of these situations will ensure that you still have money in your pockets to play another and yet another day.

And when you find yourself becoming more and more frustrated with the results of a particular slot machine, take a break and get some air. Keep in mind that playing the slot machines is a game of chance. As such, your luck may be off today. Maybe tomorrow it will come back so you can play then.

Learn to Read the Payout Schedules

This will take practice but when you do know how to read the payout schedules, you will be able to choose the slot machine with the biggest payout at the smallest possible investment. You can ask more experienced players and even the slot manager for tips on this aspect.

Use Your Cash, Not Your Credit

When starting to play the series slot machines, you must make it a habit, a good one at that, to only play from your first bankroll. Your credits must be left intact in your account. This is because you want to preserve as much profit as you can while rolling your first bankroll as much as possible.

Play the Maximum Bet

This is especially true for progressive jackpots. In order to win at this kind of game, you must play the maximum number of coins simply because this is the way that slot machines work. And speaking of progressive jackpot games, in order to win and win big at these games, you should play when the jackpot money is sufficiently big to justify your investment. Keep in mind that your investment may be bigger than a regular series slot machine but the payout is also bigger. This advice is strongly related to learning to read the payout schedules. You want to play maximum coins at the slot machine with the biggest payout, right?

In conclusion, learning how to win at a series shot involves plenty of hands-on experience, a little bit of research on the side and some luck at the slot machines. Sooner or later, you ought to be able to win a series slot game if and when you keep at it, within reasonable limits, of course.

How To Win On An Slot Machine

By Simon M Skinner

There are a lot of people out there looking for the answer to how to win on a casino slot machine. These people believe that there must be some sort of winning strategy to consistently winning at this casino game; they think that there's a secret and they're determined to ferret it out. However, there is no secret formula to winning at slots, though there are some things you can do which can level the odds. Keep reading for some ideas on improving your chances of winning when playing slot machines.

The first thing to do is to make sure that you are playing on a slot machine game that has a high turnout of winners. You want to make sure that you are fully aware of the rules and your odds of winning. The more educated you are on the game and everything that is involved in playing it, the better your odds of winning should be.

If you are confused on a game or how the odds are calculated with it, take a little time to research it all. It should not take you more than a few moments to find the information that you are looking for but it is certainly worth it in the end.

If you have never played the slots or are new to the world of online casino gaming, then take it slow with the casino slot machine. You definitely do not want to put down a substantial bet your first time around. More likely than not you will lose your money, so start small and stay small until you feel more confident (or unless you feel lucky and can easily afford to lose a lot of money).

There have been the oddball cases though where people have become millionaires within a second's worth of play time on a machine but the likelihood of that happening for you on your first try is not in itself something worth betting on.

Talking to other gamers who have done well with slot machines, racking up a relatively consistent record of wins may help - these people will often gave some valuable information on how they have managed to do so well. However, you should keep in mind that the tips they offer are just that: tips. No information anyone can give you will guarantee that you will get the same results, let alone winning every time you play the slots.

You can also ask your family and friends if they have any insight on gaming, supposing that you have friends or family members who have some experience in this area. Make sure to listen to any advice anyone has to offer you, since it may be useful to know at some point. There is no strategy which guarantees success, but you can develop your own system to maximize your odds.

Just as there are no guarantees in life, there are no guarantees of success in games of chance. However, you can help to increase your chances of winning by understanding the game and playing only in reputable casinos. Learning to play slots is a matter of trial and error and you should expect to lose a little money here and there. However, you will get better as you go and who knows - maybe you will be the genius who finally figures out how it all works and comes up with a winning casino slot machine strategy!

Vegas Hotels On And Off The Strip

By Joseph Archibald

Thinking about heading off to Las Vegas but do not want the hustle and bustle of the strip to contend with each and every day you are there? Well okay, it is possible to find a nice quiet hotel some place well off

Perhaps though you are looking for the old world charms - old colonial style buildings or some other historic period maybe. well if you think that Las Vegas is all modern hotels to suit the modern style casinos, you are in for a pleasant surprise. There are quite a lot of old traditional style buildings that have been converted into very tasteful hotels. Take your time and browse a Vegas hotel website and you will find some gems.

Its purely a personal thing as to what you like in a hotel. How about the Hawaiian theme? Vegas is a long way from Hawaii but there are some hotels that do the theme and do it very well too.

One good thing about modern buildings is that although they may be situated in a very built up and very busy and bustling area, they are very capable of excluding almost all surrounding noise.

If you are not far from the strip then noise can of course be a major problem, unless you tend to be up all night and sleep in the early hours of the morning.

Looking for a discount package? Off strip hotels are good for that as they are always in competition with the strip. As such almost any time of year offers you a number of good discount deals from some really nice hotels.

Even if you do not find a great deal the rates in Vegas are still competitive with other places in the States. Furthermore its easy to find tickets for big shows at half price discount. Check out Fremont Street for example and you will find a number of vendors there doing half price shows and events to suit almost
every taste.

So it is possible to find some great off strip hotels that will offer you the best of both worlds. Many are situated within a mile or so of the strip so if you care to venture there on occasion its easy and quick to do so, whereas at the same time if you are not interested in the strip at all then you are far enough away to avoid it entirely. Have a great time!

Considering Microsoft MCSE Training Explained

By Jason Kendall

As your research has brought you here it's possible that either you're considering a career change into IT and an MCSE certificate appeals to you, or you're currently an IT professional and it's apparent that you need the Microsoft qualification.

As you try to find out more, you will discover training companies that compromise their offerings by not upgrading their courses to the latest Microsoft version. Stay away from training companies like these as you'll have problems with the present exams. If you're learning from an old version, it will make it very difficult to pass.

Be aware of training companies that are only trying to make a sale. Always remember that buying a course for an MCSE is the same in a way as buying a car. They're very diverse; some will serve you very well, whilst others will constantly let you down. A valid provider will offer you time, expertise and advice to ensure you're on the right course. If a company has a creditable product, they'll show you examples of it prior to registering.

Most of us would love to think that our jobs will remain safe and our work futures are protected, but the growing reality for the majority of jobs throughout England right now seems to be that the marketplace is far from secure.

However, a sector experiencing fast growth, where there just aren't enough staff to go round (due to a big shortfall of commercially certified people), creates the conditions for real job security.

The 2006 UK e-Skills investigation demonstrated that twenty six percent of all IT positions available are unfilled due to a chronic shortage of properly qualified workers. That means for every four jobs that are available across the computer industry, there are barely three qualified workers to do them.

Fully taught and commercially accredited new staff are thus at an absolute premium, and in all likelihood it will stay that way for much longer.

Because the IT sector is increasing at such a quick pace, there really isn't any other sector worth taking into account for your new career.

If an advisor doesn't dig around with lots of question - it's more than likely they're actually nothing more than a salesman. If they're pushing towards a particular product before getting to know your background and experience, then you know you're being sold to.

Of course, if you've got any qualifications that are related, then you can sometimes expect to start at a different point than someone who is new to the field.

Starting with a foundation module first may be the ideal way to start into your IT programme, but really depends on your level of familiarity with computers.

With all the options available, there's no surprise that nearly all students have no idea which career they should even pursue.

As with no commercial background in computing, in what way could we understand what any job actually involves?

To attack this, there should be a discussion of several core topics:

* Our personalities play a significant part - what kind of areas spark your interest, and what tasks put a frown on your face.

* Is your focus to obtain training because of a particular reason - for example, is it your goal to work based from home (working for yourself?)?

* What are your thoughts on salary vs job satisfaction?

* When taking into account all that IT encompasses, it's a requirement that you can take in what is different.

* You need to take in what is different for all the training areas.

The best way to avoid the confusing industry jargon, and uncover the best route for you, have a good talk with an industry-experienced advisor; someone who understands the commercial reality whilst covering all the qualifications.

OK, why should we consider commercial certification and not more traditional academic qualifications taught at schools, colleges or universities?

Corporate based study (in industry terminology) is more effective in the commercial field. Industry has acknowledged that specialisation is necessary to meet the requirements of an acceleratingly technical commercial environment. Microsoft, CompTIA, CISCO and Adobe are the key players in this arena.

In essence, students are simply taught the necessary specifics in depth. It isn't quite as lean as that might sound, but the most important function is always to cover the precise skills needed (along with a certain amount of crucial background) - without attempting to cover a bit about all sorts of other things (as degree courses are known to do).

Imagine if you were an employer - and your company needed a person with some very particular skills. Which is the most straightforward: Trawl through reams of different degrees and college qualifications from several applicants, struggling to grasp what they've learned and which workplace skills they've mastered, or select a specialised number of commercial certifications that perfectly fit your needs, and then choose your interviewees based around that. You'll then be able to concentrate on getting a feel for the person at interview - instead of long discussions on technical suitability.

You have to make sure that all your accreditations are commercially valid and current - don't bother with studies which lead to some in-house certificate (which is as useless as if you'd printed it yourself).

Only fully recognised certification from the major players like Microsoft, CompTIA, Cisco and Adobe will open the doors to employers.

Making Your Jeep Wrangler Winter-Proof

By Richard Potts

Winter almost always equates to more difficult and dangerous terrains and trails for any off-road enthusiast. However, more risk involved means more fun and excitement to the hardcore Jeeper. If you own a Jeep Wrangler, you know that winter can really be great time to go off-roading. That is if your Jeep Wrangler can take on the winter and what it brings to the table.

Integrating your Jeep Wrangler with the appropriate accessories can beef up your 4x4 vehicle and take on any trails on winter time. And there are a lot of Jeep accessories out there. This article will help you pick the best parts to transform your Jeep Wrangler into the ultimate winter 4x4 off-road machine.

Getting a top for your Wrangler should be a priority as rain and heavy downpour of snow and ice will be the norm of the weather. A winter top for your Jeep Wrangler will not only provide with some shade, it will protect you from the elements. Once the sun starts to peek through the cloud, you can just remove the top and bask in its warmth again.

The roads during winter months provide a perilous circumstance to all type of vehicles. Rigging your Jeep Wrangler with snow tires with treads that are designed to give you a good friction on the road even if its slippery and wet is a good way to prep up for the long drive ahead. Top class snow tires will give you better control and allows you to have full control of your Wrangler even if the road is drenched in snow and ice.

Winter does not only mean snow, it also comes with mud. And while it is fun to splatter mud all around, mud can get inside your Jeep and do some dirty work on the carpets and interiors. If you want your interiors to be easily maintainable, fit them with Jeep Wrangler floor mats and liners.

Other essential accessories you might want to bring along when off-roading in winter are jacks, fuel containers, and camping equipment. You don't want to get stranded without these essentials. Its like getting lost in the woods with nothing but a broken compass that points to the west.

Winter may be chilly and boring for some. But for off-roaders, winter present them with trails that are clad in snow and ice and dangerous off-road routes that scare the hell out of ordinary drivers. Simply put, winter is still a good season to launch an off-road adventure.

Camp Savings,

By Lonnie Lorenz

The Summer of 2009 brings for many of us a strain on our finances. Yet, we do not want our children to loose out on the Summer Camp experience. Swift Nature Camp is a reasonable priced program that offers a traditional overnight camp program at a reasonable price.

This is a recent reprint of an article from associated press. It's the fireside tale that spooks parents every summer: A few weeks at camp can cost thousands of dollars.

To avoid that scary fate, Gabriel and Jennifer Griego and their friends plan to take turns watching the kids for part of this summer.

"In the past, we always sent them to camps the whole summer," said Gabriel Griego a 43-year-old father of two in Berkeley, Calif. "This year we're looking to reduce that by about half."

Translation: No more than $1,000 for both kids.

As families across the country watch their portfolios melt away, the penny-pinching approach is being applied to every corner of life. Summer camp, which families often plan for months in advance to secure slots, is no exception.

That doesn't mean parents are opting out of the national camp tradition altogether. In fact, enrollment numbers are on track to hit the 10 million mark that has held steady for the past several years, according to the American Camp Association.

"It's not that camp has become a yes-or-no question, but (parents are) changing the way they make decisions," said Peter Surgenor, president of the ACA, based in Martinsville, Ind.

Most commonly, Surgenor said parents are inquiring about shorter or less expensive programs. They're often surprised to learn how many options they have.

To start, there are more than 12,000 sleep-away and day camps in the country, according to ACA, meaning there's one likely to suit any budget. In some cases, nonprofit camps such as the Boys & Girls Club might waive fees for families that can't afford to pay. Churches, synagogues and social service groups also offer low-cost or free options.

One way to begin your search is through CampParents.org, an ACA-run site that lets families search for camps by region, price and key words like "soccer" or "language studies." The site also lets users narrow options to camps that accommodate special needs such as autism, diabetes or attention deficit disorder.

Limiting your search to day camps, rather than a round-the-clock sleep-away, is a fast way to slash spending.

Fees vary widely, but day camps can cost around $275 a week, while sleep-away can cost about $780, according to ACA.

Another way to scale back spending is picking shorter sessions; many camps offer a menu of programs that run between two and 10 weeks.

Kids generally get the same social benefits from camp anyway, regardless of the duration of the program, Surgenor said.

"Camp is about forming social bonds and learning how to fit into a new situation away from home," he said. "You don't need months or an elite program to achieve that."

That less-is-more philosophy is one the Griegos are embracing whole heartedly. It's a turnaround from last year, when their two children were enrolled in a patchwork of day camps that spanned the entire summer.

Now the family is cherry picking the kids' favorites, said Griego, a marketing executive for an online company. For their 6-year-old daughter Ella, that luckily includes an independent sewing camp run out of a nearby home. It costs $200 a week, compared to about $350 a week for some of the larger camps the children attended.

"The economic situation being what it is, parents are looking for comparable options that are a little less expensive," said Sean Nienow, director of the National Camp Association, a free referral service that is sponsored by the industry.

Once you settle on a camp, roll up your sleeves to wrestle down the price tag yet further.

Start by talking to the camp director. Every year, camps give away more than $39 million in scholarships, and 90 percent offer some form of financial aid, according to ACA. Don't be shy about asking camp directors what type of aid is available.

Camps will often work with struggling families to make prices more affordable, too.

At the Jefunira Camp in Mountain View, Calif., an outdoor day camp, a two-week stay typically costs about $800. But director Jeff Gamble said he's willing to negotiate lower prices for families that are struggling financially this year.

For the first time, he's also allowing payment plans, rather than requiring full payment at the time of enrollment.

"Some parents are even asking if they can defray costs by volunteering," Gamble said. With an enrollment of just 270 each year, however, he said the camp already has enough staff.

One way parents at the camp can whittle down costs is packing their child's lunch, rather than signing up for the camp's meal program.

If you can't get any financial relief from the camp, check with your employer. Your company may offer flexible spending accounts for dependent care, which typically lets workers set aside up to $5,000 to cover costs such as child care (including day camp, but not sleep-away camps.) Last year, 84 percent of large companies offered the benefit, according to the business consulting firm Mercer.

Lastly, start thinking about next summer. It might seem far off, but camps often offer deep discounts to families that sign up a summer in advance. Early enrollment for the following year can begin just a week or two into a session.

Of course, you should wait and see how your child takes to the camp before committing to another year.

Why Joana's Leveling Guide Is The Best For Horde Characters

By Bob Hobson

Joana's leveling guide is perhaps the best and most popular World of Warcraft leveling guide for Horde available on the market. It includes absolutely everything you need to know in order to speed level your Horde character to eighty in no time.

The fact that it is frequently updated is extremely beneficial, since World of Warcraft is constantly changing. If you buy an official strategy guide from the shop in a normal book format, you will find that it will be out of date as soon as the next major content patch arrives. This makes it a complete waste of money and all you have is a nice shiny book with lots of pictures of little practical use.

However, any updates to Joana's leveling guides are also completely free so once you buy the product, you will not need spend any more money in the future. This can work out a lot cheaper than many of the other competing guides.

This makes the product work out a lot cheaper than many competing guides, since you will never have to buy the product again no matter how major the revision is.

If you have levelled many characters before, you are no doubt finding that it is a bit of a grind. Although you probably know where many of the quests are by now, it can be very frustrating when you get lost and you are still grinding slowly away to the maximum level.

This guide will help you a lot simply because it integrates and add-on into the game which will point you in the right direction. This way you will never get lost and you will never have to minimize the game to review the guide. The in game guide includes all sorts of waypoints, telling you where to get the best quests, where to hand them in and of course, how to do the quests themselves.

Even better, the guide comes with a built in component which you use in game. This means that you don't have to minimize the game to refer to the guide. Nonetheless, there is a guide which you can print out if you prefer.

You will simply follow an arrow around which will point you in the right direction. You will never end up getting lost, and you will end up exploring many areas of the game and probably doing quests that you never did before simply because you never found them. The arrow will point you in the right direction for quest objects and will also give you textual descriptions of anything which is a little confusing.

Choosing Between Wooden And Aluminum Bats

By Michael Kennedy

In Baseball, the length and weight of the bat and the material with which it is made of determines the effect of the batter's swing. And this makes it one of the significant aspects of Baseball. Restrictions being kept on using certain bats, people use long, wooden bats as well as hard-core iron bats. Even though they come in different shapes and sizes, wooden bats are more popular in major leagues. In fact every batter should have a bat that fits his own needs.

Rules are provided by every league on the material that should be used to make the bat. They also mention the circumference of the barrel. Instead of being removed from the game for not referring to the rules, inquire about the rules and regulations to be maintained while using a bat from umpires or coaches. Note: Corked bats are not allowed except for practices.

In order to accommodate many of todays restrictions many bat manufactures are helping you out by placing the following on their packaging, "Approved for such and such a league." This has made it easier for all of us to find the right bat for our league.

In regards to the price range of bats you will find a large variety of prices ranging from $20 to $500. Please remember that the $500 bat is not necessarily the best bat there is and that the $20 bat is not trash. A bat is only as good as the batter, so remember that practice makes perfect. Try to ensure that you purchase the bat that will help you with your particular needs.

Nowadays, bats come with extravagant features like thin walls, wooden choices and formation; they can set any ball flying. But these bats may not be strong enough to sustain fractures and breaks. As we know, Babe Ruth didn't require a modern streamlined bat to hit a number of home runs.

As batting cages provide harder and faster balls, it is ideal to use a metal bat with batting cages. Metal bats can withstand better than today's bats which even contain helium or nitrogen inside. Bats enhanced with these gases make the ball fly even further and higher. This is called "trampoline effect".

On your journey to find the perfect baseball bat for you it will be necessary to visit several stores and try a variety of bats. Your ultimate goal in deciding on the length of your bat is to find one that feels like it is an arm extension. In regards to weight, the bat should allow you freedom in swinging and not be heavy to the point of imbalance.

Do not choose a bat that will last long. A particular bat should satisfy the need of the particular season only. For children do not let them get used to a particular bat. It is more important that you should feel the bat as a part of you. This will allow you to get an improved swing.

UFC 92 Flashback: Mir Scores Knockout Win Over 'Big Nog'

By Ross Everett

UFC 92 was a high impact affair, with Rashad Evans defeating Forrest Griffin by TKO to win the light heavyweight title and Frank Mir knocking out Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira to claim the UFC interim heavyweight title. The event had been dubbed The Ultimate 2008 and every one of the main cards six matches ended via TKO.

While nominally taking subordinate status to the Evans/Griffin main event the most shocking result by far was Frank Mirs second round TKO stoppage of Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira. Nogueira was the overwhelming favorite coming into the fight and had never been stopped inside the distance during a career where hed faced the best of the best: Fedor Emelianenko (three times), Josh Barnett (twice), Semmy Schilt and Mirko Cro Cop among many others.

Mir, meanwhile, had been on the verge of a full time move to the broadcast booth before his victory over WWE superstar turned MMA fighter Brock Lesnar. The conventional wisdom concerning Mir was that hed never fully recovered from a serious motorcycle accident in 2004 and that he was essentially a shot fighter physically, emotionally and psychologically.

When the fight against Brock Lesnar was signed, the perception among most fans was that Mir was a high profile setup for the former WWE champ. The expectation was that after a one-sided loss to Lesnar that Mir would transition into the next phase of his career as a broadcaster.

Lesnar manhandled Mir from the opening horn, taking him down and landing punishing hammer fists on the ground. That was rendered irrelevant, however, when Lesnar made a rookie mistake and dangled his leg in easy reach of the BJJ blackbelt. Even with the submission victory, however, the perception was that Mir had gotten lucky when Lesnar made a rookie mistake.

There would be no such reprieve against Nogueira, according to many pundits, as he was too experienced and too good of a BJJ player in his own right. Mos gave Mir little chance to prevail in this matchup against a highly experienced veteran that had never been stopped inside the distance.

The fight was certainly one-sided, but it was Mir who was in control throughout. From the opening horn he demonstrated surprisingly sharp striking skills, and knocked Nogueira down twice in the first round. Not expecting a solid standup offense, Nogueira looked downright lost in the later stages of the first round.

After a low kick attempt by Nogueira, Mirs counter tagged his opponent and he followed up with a big right hook that sent the Brazilian crashing to the canvas. Herb Dean jumped in to stop the fight almost immediately, awarding Mir an improbable TKO victory at 1:54 seconds of round #2.

In the light heavyweight championship match, Forrest Griffin got off to a good start in his title defense by using his superior height and reach and an impressive array of kicks to keep Rashad Evans just out of range for two full rounds. That changed dramatically in the third, as Evans ended the fight with a punishing punching attack.

The most highly anticipated match on the undercard also featured a lopsided TKO finish as Quinton Rampage Jackson dominated Wanderlei Silva in the third fight between the two men. It was Jacksons first fight since his well publicized hit and run incident in Orange County, California and he looked very sharp throughout before bringing the contest to a close with a perfectly placed left hook to the cheekbone. Silva immediately collapsed to the canvas and the referee started to step in before he hit the ground.
